About Pickled Beats
Chris Eastwood
Beginning with the clarinet in grade school, Chris Eastwood's musical interests expanded and he gradually added soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophone, flutes, guitar, bass, keyboards, conga drums, percussion, and vocals to his list of performance abilities. Enjoying the challenge of live
performance, Chris has been entertaining audiences almost non-stop for
decades now. He feels that a creative ear and adaptability are his
strengths, is quick with a wise crack and likes to laugh. Following his
extremely eclectic tastes, he has performed in commercial and creative
recording sessions, pit orchestras, jazz groups, dance bands, and rock
groups. After touring the country with the show band "Parade" in the late
70's, Chris became a vital part of the popular bar group, "The Grinnin'
Whippet Band" and was a founding member of the dance band "Sundance".
Feeling the need for more creative outlets for his writing and improvising
talents, Chris retired from Sundance in 2002 ( "3,000 weddings is enough"),
re-connected with long-time music acquaintances Gary and Steve, and when
the need arose, dragged Andrew, a refugee from the open-mic night circuit,
into the mix.
Chris lives in Villa Park and works as a computer guy by day. His
non-musical passion is dog training (he has four of his own) and competing
in canine agility events, where two of his dogs have received numerous
nationally recognized titles.
